A documentary about John Carpenter is the only setting where Kurt Russell’s appearance on screen doesn’t have me reaching for the off button.

I was fortunate enough a few years ago to briefly talk to John Carpenter at a showing of Dark Star & Assault on Precinct 13 at a revival house theater in LA. I remember he remarked that he was regarded as a god in Europe and trash in the US. Go figure.
