Koyaanisqatsi is visually and aurally stunning and only now look a bit cliched in parts due to it being ripped off by so manyy adverts and pop videos etc. but was very innovate at the time. Btw have you seen Naqoyqatsi the third film in the trilogy? That really is embarrassingly cliched. So awful is it that I found it hard to believe the same people where behind it. I have a feeling that Ron Fricke, the cinematographer of the first two, may not have been but I’m not too sure.

ps. we can’t view Hulu in th UK.

I like that – “flawed masterpiece”. Indeed, the match cuts and associative editing becomes obvious after, like, the third time. I GET IT ALREADY!!

I find it’s cousins “Man with a Movie Camera”, “Manufactured Landscapes” and “Baraka” far more enlightening if you’re in the mood for a stoner-pseudo-intellectual-long-form-montage (I think that’s the official genre name)
