A definitive art house piece. Brilliant or bullshit – you decide. Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page took 3 years to do the soundtrack, which Anger dumped and replaced by one by convicted murderer Bobby Beausoleil of the Charles Manson family.

The Cannonball Adderley Sextet performs on German TV in 1963 – awesome. Check out the modernist, Blue Note style graphics as a backdrop. Makes the typical sets for today’s music shows seem old fashioned.

I recently posted this on my blog, and someone suggested that I repost it here. Threads is a drama set in 1984, depicting the build up and aftermath of an all out nuclear war. Threads had a monumental affect on me when I saw it as a kid. The threat of of a nuclear holocaust was the bogey man of my generation. The irony is that we are probably closer today to the risk of a nuclear incident. For those of you that rember Threads (or the similar but less visceral, The Day After) or are watching it for the first time, I’d be interested in your reaction in the comments ‘thread’.
